Children's Gastroenterology Specialists, S.C. is headed by Dr. Suzanne Nelson. Dr. Nelson is dedicated to the care of infants, children, and adolescents with Digestive Disorders. She is board certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Her areas of expertise include:
Dr. Nelson is a graduate of Northwestern Medical School and did her pediatric training at Children's Memorial Hospital. Dr. Nelson completed her fellowship training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Boston Children's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard Medical School. She also has a Masters of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Nelson is on staff at Children's Memorial Hospital and Evanston Hospital (NorthShore University HealthSystem). She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. She is a member of the Children's Community Physicians Association. She is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition were she has served on the Clinical Practice Committe and currently serves on the Public Education Committee. She is also a member of the American Gastroenterology Association. Dr. Nelson has served on the recruitment committee and has co-chaired the pediatric section of the Illinois chapter of the CCFA's IBD Education Symposium.
